The Details tab has six main areas: general, location, cost, milestone, prioritization, and funding information. These areas serve different functions for the user. The general area, though functioning as a title describing the components of the project to the user, functions beyond showing information.
Description & Actions
The general area describes the top portion of the Details tab which displays the STIP ID, Mode, Funding Program, Project Status, Revision, and SPOT ID of the selected project. This strip remains static-- that is, unmoving-- so it is constantly viewable to the user as they scroll.
The information in this area can be edited. However, once a project has been approved in the Active or Board Approved STIP, the Mode and Funding Program are no longer editable since these values are used to create the STIP ID. This is indicated by the grayed look of the boxes in the picture above.
The general area also has a icon beside the STIP ID which enables the user with certain capabilities over the project. The user can Copy Project, Move Project, Combine Projects, or Add Child Project in the pop-up window that emerges from clicking this icon. The table outlines the important features of each action in the list.
| Action | Associated Fields | Description |
| Copy Project | STIP ID, From STIP/Scenario, To STIP/Scenario, Mode, and Funding Program | Can copy the project to the same STIP/Scenario or a different STIP/Scenario. |
| Move Project | STIP ID, From STIP/Scenario, To STIP/Scenario, Mode, and Funding Program | Can move the Project to a different STIP/Scenario other than ones it exists in. |
| Combine Projects | STIP ID, From STIP/Scenario, and STIP ID to Combine | Can combine the current project with another project within the same STIP. Only Project Locations, Costs, and Funding records will all be combined; other single field options will retain their values. |
| Add Child Project | STIP ID, From STIP/Scenario, Create Child, Child Suffix, and Copy Project | Can add a child project to the current STIP ID; not available to a child record. |
Once the user has selected their preferred action and filled out its associated boxes, they can click "Save Changes" to execute the action. If any of these actions occur in either the Active or Board Approved STIP, the user will be required to submit the changes to trigger the addition or deletion.
Therefore, the user can utilize the "General" area of the Details tab to view project information, modify/add certain categories, and rearrange projects.
