As the user may notice, each STIP has a designated letter in parentheses at the end of its year range. These letters are STIP statuses, indicating the current approval stage or usage status for the STIP. The various STIP statuses are also conveniently associated with a color and icon which are shown at the top of the Projects, Actions, and Dashboard modules, giving a visual confirmation of the status. Below is a table outlining the color and icon for each possible STIP status and an example of how this color-icon-STIP combination would appear on the application.

The two relevant STIP statuses right now are Active and Future, for those are the only two in the current system: 2020-2029 (A) and 2024-2033 (F). However, NCDOT updates and creates STIPs often, so the other statuses may become relevant in the near future.
