The Staging tab sets the stage for the remainder of the Actions Workflow process. If the revision is withdrawn in this stage, the process is halted altogether, and the item reverts to its original value. However, a major revision that is approved on the Staging tab sends the change further in the process to the appropriate parties that could ensure its addition to the STIP.
Actions in the Staging Tab
So, what actions are allowed in the Staging tab? There are four possible selections a user can make in the Staging tab:
| Action | Revision Types | Description |
| Accept for Approval | Administrative Modifications or Technical Corrections ONLY | Approves the change; once saved, these changes will be considered Approved and will be removed from the Staging tab. |
| Submit for Approval | Major Amendment or Minor Amendment ONLY | Prepares the change to be submitted to the Pre-Approved tab for assignment to a STIP Revision. |
| Withdraw | All Types | Reverts the change to its former value. |
| <blank> | All Types | Performs no action and leaves the change within the Change table; default setting. |
Sometimes, a revision can show the default display of "Rejected." This simply means the revision was submitted for approval in the Staging tab, but it was rejected in the Pre-Approval tab. This lands it back in the Staging tab for further assessment and revision.
While the user can manually choose actions for each project, there is an “Action to Take for All” picklist available at the top right of the interface. This will update the Action picklist for all displayed projects whose Action selection is currently blank. It allows the user to quickly bulk update all blank Actions rather than selecting them one at a time.
